Former security guard accused of lewd acts and threats of violence set to appear in court

NEWKIRK — A second status docket is set in Kay County District Court for Perry James Buntt, 21, on July 12.

Buntt is facing three felony charges of lewd and or indecent proposals or acts to a child under 16, violation of the state statute via computer, and soliciting sexual conduct and or communication with a minor by technology. In a second case he is charged with three misdemeanors of threatening to perform act of violence.

In the first case, Ponca City police report Buntt is accused of sending pictures of his penis to two 14-year-old females. He was reportedly employed as a security guard by Burnett Security at the time and his assignments reportedly included Ponca City High School.

Capt. Randy Tyner conducted an interview with Buntt in which Buntt reportedly admitted to sending the photos to teens and reportedly admitted to kissing the teens.
Tyner reports Buntt stated, “I have talked and traded pictures with other girls as well. I can’t tell you exactly how many.”

In the second case, Buntt is accused of making threatening statements while working at Walmart. Police report six witnesses told police Buntt made statements about “shooting up the place,” and “I would be better if your all’s blood was on the floor.” When police asked Buntt about the statements, he reportedly stated, “I was only rapping a song.”
Buntt is free on $55,000 bond.
