Court date set for vandalism suspect

NEWKIRK — The man accused of breaking windows at several businesses along North 14th Street on June 8 is scheduled of an attorney status review on July 12. (See story)

Peter Campos, 26, Ponca City, is charged with seven felony counts of malicious injury to property over $1,000 after a felony conviction.

Police report that Campos is accused of vandalizing a vehicle parked at Walmart and breaking windows at Check Into Cash; 3B Bailbonds; Bowker Ford; Open MRI; Cricket Wireless, and Decorative Dimensions.

A couple sitting in a vehicle at Food Pyramid called 911 when they reportedly saw a male subject throw a rock at the glass door of Open MRI. They told police he then kicked the door a few times before he went to Cricket Wireless and threw a rock at a window there.
Officers responded to the area.

Cpl. Warren Thompson reports he responded to an alarm at Locke Supply where he found a broken window. Thompson and Ptl. officer Maggie Frost later located the suspect, identified as Campos, walking on the south sidewalk of Hartford near Fairview. Campos is being held on $25,000 bond.
